Garmin128-Standard Horizon1500e connections?

Hi all I am trying to connect a Garmin128 to a Standard Horizon 1500e dsc radio can anyone help with the correct wiring connections (which colours to which colours) neither operators manuals agree with each other and I'm worried I might damage something, have searched the forum but can't find anything. Thanks for the help I know is coming

Had a similar problem last week with Garmin 72 and SH 1500 e dsc radio, so I phoned Garmin marine division and they told me straight away. I suspect they spend considerable time doing this for a variety of different pieces of kit.

Tel no is 02380 524000 - not one shown in the owners manual - at least not in mine!

Both the diagram in the Standard Horizon manual (page 11) and the one in the Garmin manual (page 59) are correct. In the 1500e manual the words refer to the GPS device and the colours refer to the radio. So:

Garmin 128 NMEA output +ve (blue) goes to the 1500e NMEA input +ve (blue).

Garmin 128 NMEA output -ve is ground (black) and goes to 1500e NMEA input -ve (green) and to 12v -ve.

This is exactly the set-up on my own boat. No problem.
