Garmin sensors

Hi all, can anyone point me at what's needed to add speed and depth to a Garmin GPSMap 451? the garmin site doesn't seem to have the answers apart from saying a speed sensor and transducer but no part numbers or pricing. I'm OK with the fitting procedure, just looking at what needs to be purchased at the moment.

Your best bet is to phone the Garmin tech. people on their help line. I installed a load of Garmin gear and they were extremely helpful with some similar questions.

The unit your are looking for is the Garmin DST 800.

Sold by Garmin and other marine retailers.

They are made by Airmar.

You will need to decide whether to connect it via NMEA 2000 or 0183.

The Garmin 451 does not have sounder capability, you need the 451s for that so first check which model you have.

Yes, if it's just a 451 and not a 451s you wont be able to add depth.

Thanks guys. The 451 does support depth just not a sounder - these are different functions, the latter producing a more detailed picture and requiring a very specific sensor (which actually is detailed on the Garmin site)
