Hi, I'm hoping someone more knowledgeable can point me in the right direction.
I recently bought a second hand boat, and have been going through the systems etc. It has a Garmin 232 plotter and an ICOM IC M323 vhf. Both are working, but the VHF isn't showing the position from the plotter. According to the manuals, both are NMEA compatible, but I can't find where/how to connect the NMEA IN/OUT leads from the vhf set to.
Thanks in advance,
Simon

On further inspection of the manuals, the garmin has a combined power/data cable, of which pin 6 (green) should be the NMEA OUT to the vhf dsc set. The manuals state they have the correct interface (nmea 0183 ver 2.0 or 3.01).

The Icom Yellow wire connects to the Garmin green wire.
The Icom green wire connects to the Garmin 12v negative.

Make sure the plotter is set to output NMEA 0183 at 4,800 baud.
