I need the get the MMSI cleared in my Garmin VHF (just bought the boat), and wonder if there is anyone in Devon that can do this?

If not, can anyone offer me this service if I post the radio to you and if so at what cost?

Many Thanks

Either drop an email to Garmin - they are really, really helpful or ring round the local chandleries.

Do not forget that the MMSI number stays with the boat. You should adopt it and advise Ofcom of change of ownership.

Garmin did an MMSI reset on a VHF and an AIS for me recently, and posted them back, entirely free of charge (and they were quite old). Email or call them. As mentioned by @Sandy, they are very helpful.

Thanks for the advice. Have managed to get this reassigned by OFCOM
Well done. This is the correct action Which many fail to observe.

If any EPIRBS and or PLB"s came withcthe boat then they now have to be re registered with your details including emergency contact details.

There was recently an incident involving a vessel where this seems not to have been done and so some confusion was experienced by those tasked to the rescue location.
