Garmin Homeport and G2vision

So I got the G2 vision charts for the Med ( France/Spain) and the Homeport software.
The Homeport will not load on my XP laptop but loads OK on my windows 8 PC, has anyone had this difficulty?
On the PC the Homeport and the charts look fine, I had hoped to be able to use the Google earth type 'overlay' with this as I thought it was part of the vision package. I can get Google Earth pics. centred on my chart position but not geo-referenced, any views on this please?
I can't find any sort of manual for this software and very little in the 'help section' and would appreciate pointers here also.

Best bet is to contact Garmin Tech Support via the Garmin UK website.

I've found them very helpful with issues such as these.

Garmin had no answer. Went back to to the vendor. He was uncertain if the software would run on XP version 3. Indeed it is described as running on XP 2 in my foolish way I assumed that if it ran on 2 it would be ok on 3. Will they accept a return on the item? (Seaclear needed XP3!)

I have ran it on XP SP3 - why don't you update to XPSP3 anyway?

The map needs to be on a card, inserted in any connected card reader... the software installed on pc...
