Garmin gWind GND10 Problem

I bought a Garmin gWind. After a bit of a saga making a piece to mount the anemometer at the top of the mast (footprint was too big for the original space) I found that it didn't work.

Contacted Garmin who diagnosed a faulty GND10 so they swapped it for a refurbished one. That was a bit of a saga too and maybe not UPS's finest hour but it ultimately arrived.

Anyway, the refurbished one doesn't work and has exactly the same symptoms. I'll contact Garmin again but I was curious to see if anyone else had had similar issues.

Basically on power up it doesn't seem to register on the N2K network (according to my ShipModul) and it shows a solid red LED. The Garmin Support Engineer told me previously that this meant it wasn't booting up. It doesn't make any difference whether the Nexus bus connection from the anemometer is plugged in or not. Tried leaving it half an hour in case it was a slow initial boot up. No joy.

Anyone recognise the problem?
