Garmin GPSMAP Colour 011-00742-10

Hi

I'm asking for a friend who has a Garmin chart plotter and he needs to interface it to his DSC radio. Question is: NMEA out, is it from the smaller 5 pin plug or do we need to take it from the larger 18 pin plug?

I have looked at the user manual online I think I need to connect to the grey(nmea) wire and black (-).

Anybody know if that's right?

Extra problem we have is the end of the multi core cable are not accessible, so I was thinking about carefully cutting the outer cover to get at the grey & black wire.
