Hope somebody can help me. I'm contemplating a 551 GPS but can't find out if it contains inland waterway charts (specifically Erne & Shannon waterways). Any retailers that I've phoned can't say yes or no.

I've just had a quick look at the database which came with my 551, and it seems that detail for the Shannon is OK as far as King John's castle, and no further. I don't have anything detailed for Lough Erne at all...

Thanks Scillyboy, just saved me a few £'s! Maybe they'll think about making a chart of the Erne in the future.

Navionics do it. I had it on the ipad when we were on the erne and it worked well. The app covers uk and holland and is pretty reason able on the erne shannon.
I had a cmap on the Northstar Chart plotter for Ireland East coast but didn't have inland on it, and the ipad worked so well at a fantastic cost of c.£40.
Also as far as I know, when I got it about 4 years ago, navionics were the only electronic chart for the erne.
