Garmin GPS external antenna.

Help please. I have acquired the bits in this pic as is. Am I correct in assuming that 'A' requires some sort of soldered terminal which screws into 'B' ? If so, are they readily available ?

'B' looks like it is the connector that should be swaged onto 'A' to me, see if you can get a self-fit connector to match it and solder it on.

Thing is - 'B' has an internal thread!

A is a crimp type BNC or TNC connector depending if it is threaded or baynet. Go to maplins with B and get as said elswhere a new self fit one. Some marina chandlers sell them.

Beware you get a connector for radio ie 50 ohm and not a similar one for computers 75 ohm.

B is a twist-on BNC connector. You don't need anything else. See here for instructions on how to fit it.

Thats what makes it a twist on connector.

You need to prepare the coax as shown in the oter post in relation to the cut back of insulation and amount ofcentral conductor showing and then you screw the connector onto the coax till it stops.
