My neighbour has a Garmin Echomax 55d which has stopped displaying the depth. I have traced the cable from the transducer to the display and all seems to be in good condition. The boat is currently out of the water. Is there any way to test the transducer whilst it is out of the water and any way to test the display.
He's quite happy to buy a new transducer if that is the problem, but obviously doesn't want to waste his money if it's not.
