I'm in the market for a chartplotter for my Vancouver 27. It will live in the cockpit and I'm aware of problems some of the touchscreen models have in wet weather, or even being operated with wet fingers, so I'm looking for one that doesn't rely on a touchscreen. The Garmin Echomap UHD 95SV looks to be a contender, with its real physical buttons. But a lot of the operation seems to use the touchscreen. Does anyone know if it can be operated with the physical buttons alone?

Cheers

I do not have any problem at all with my Garmin 95SV & I have had it for 2 seasons. Due to covid I have only done 1200 miles in that time so not an extensive test but so far so good & no sudden changes due to spray etc.

I’ve never had any issues with my touch screen in the wet, I expect many who report problems are using iPads etc which never work well with damp fingers from what I’ve seen
