Garmin Chartplotter 550 v\'s 555

Am thinking of getting a chart plotter with AIS capability. Am used to using a Lowrance 5150 but as it cannot be used to display AIS I have been looking at Garmin.

Has anyone compared the displays on the 550 and 555? According to the blurb the 550 has display resolution of 240 x 320 and the 555 display resolution of 640 x 480. What is the difference - other than another £200?

Kit would be in cockpit so can see from helm when singlehanding.

Ive bought the 550 and found the resolution more than adequate and at a price of £385 I reckon it to be a good buy. Comes with all the UK charts.
