I have a Garmin GHP 10 autopilot on NMEA200 system was working perfectly well but has now stopped giving error message 'searching for autopilot controller'. Garmin website says make sure yellow wires are connected and both controller and GHP10 have same ground. I have checked this and all is as it should be.

Has anyone any idea what the fault may be?

Thanks
Roy

Possible CCU fault or dodgy connection/cable on the N2K network, if you have a Garmin plotter go into config and look and which devices the network can see. I have had several Garmin cables come up faulty, odly enough one on a Garmin GHP10 I'm installing at the moment. Certainly as the Garmin site indicates, the CCU to control head connection (yellow and ground) quality and return config are critical to the operation and worth checking for continuity.
