Where do you think AI gets its data from ? Boat related AI searches often refer to this forum, so if people only used AI there would be limited answers. Not to mention AI often quotes a load of rubbish, it isn't AI it's a fancy search engine.

Exactly. Perfect case of garbage in, garbage out. So many times you see the AI answer, scroll down and find a Reddit thread with the same information and it's wrong or out of context.

It's also guilty of confirmation bias. Ask a question one way and you get one answer, ask it another way and you get a different and often contrary one.

Well Paul, in this case AI gets its data from Garmin when I do that search. I suspect they know something about it. I think for people who cant RTFM this is quite a good shortcut, and even if you can RTFM it is usually a quick way to get to the key information. It also tells you where it got the info. IF you ask!
Your answer was useful but the OP could have had most of the info in seconds rather than a day.
In all aspects of life it's quite wise to use critical thinking when receiving information. Yes its a very simple use of AI but then it is a very simple question.

As mentioned already, if your config is all ok then look at aerial/coax as the likely cause. This was the issue with mine, replaced both and all was good. Given it was re-erected my bet is on the connection/coax as they are very sensitive to movement/corrosion etc
