Yes I've still got one of those. Anybody know or remember how to replace the memory battery?

Is there one? I thought the thing was nitrogen-filled and needed to go back to the ark if fiddled with. Having said that I've seen pictures of its innards on the net somewhere years ago. What's yours doing wrong? I bought mine in the late 90's and it still works OK.

I need to restore the memory/almanac if it has been off for more than a couple of hours, so I assumed there must be a memory batterry

Dunno if it's the same as mine (a Garmin 28) but leaving it plugged into a live 12v feed for 24 hours or so recharges the memory battery. Garmin support is v. friendly - give them a call.

I have 2 of 45 and a 48 for backups and I have the same problem with one of my 45's.

I was told only garmin UK could replace / fix.

If you find out what to do pls let me know.
