Anyone know if I can drive the 2006 with a standard GPS rather tahn using teh Garmin 17N supplied iwth the plotter. I already have a Garmin 128 installed and would like to use that rather tahn installing the 17N as well.

Should be fine if the unit accepts the message version from your old GPS.
I drive a Lowrance Plotter from a Garmin Diff GPS signal rather than the dedicated signal.
