To follow up a post I made a year ago, (and thank you PVB for a clear steer at the time)web page , I need further info please:

I have been in conversation with the programmer for GPSU, who tells me I need to connect more bits of Garmin GPS to my PC. to quote: "The NMEA mode requires that only the ground and the GPS->PC wire are working. The Garmin mode requires that the PC->GPS wire is operational as well. Check the sockets/connectors for any obvious problem. "

Can anyone tell me which one (colour) is the PC-GPS wire. and to what pin it must connect? I have a black and red and a green left over; NMEA works OK on both SEAPRO lite and GPSU.

Hope I can help,I have GPS 152 connected to PC and GPSU as I write and they are happy talking together.
First connections:
On a 9-way D type serial connector:
Garmin blue is GPS NMEA out connect to pin 2
Garmin brown is GPS NMEA in connect to pin 3
Garmin black is GPS ground (power and data) connect to pin 5 and to power supply 0vdc
Garmin red is +VDC power supply
Garmin green is not used

To transfer waypoints you must set GPS 152 to Garmin Data Transfer in the Com tab and in GPSU set to Garmin Serial/USB etc in the GPS set up

If you need more help try PM ing me though working on a boat tomorrow and out now, yacht club and a pint or 2 calls.

Actually, when I searched on this subject yesterday, the search engine turned up my original post of Feb 2007. However, what I always do is save the thread onto my HDD, thus guranteeing that I have the info.
