galvanising or this?

My Anchor is looking a bit sorry for itself and some of the chain is rusting, any thoughts on this please as an alternative to regavanising.

I did my Delta with something very similar, bought in France. It did quite a reasonable job, although the paint on the tip wore off quite quickly. The rest is still in quite good condition.

As Vyv suggests, you can use it for touch-ups but it won't last. Hot gip galvanizing is very hard and durable, you can't substitute anything for it really. You'll also probably find that using sufficient quantites of that stuff, particularly on your chain, will prove a false economy.
