Hi all,

I wonder if any of you out there who may know of a company that supply Imperial hot-dip galvanised coachbolts? I have tried in vain for the last couple of weeks to find a supplier. Most of the ones I have found are distributors and naturally are only interested if you want multiples of 100 or upwards.

Since I only require 5 for the keel of my trailer sailer - I do not need 100! The other suppliers I have found (seaware, marine store) only stock metric and do not have anything close to 13mm (1/2 inch) - Marine store do actually list imperial sizes on their website but when I placed an order they rang to say that they no longer stock these and haven't done for some time and will now remove the listing from their site. I'm pulling my hair out at this stage - does ANYONE know where I might find someone who is willing to supply 5 x 1/2" hot-dip galvanised bolts?

Any help greatly appreciated

Niall

Niall I have no idea the specific reasons you need/want galvanised (being a MOBO er) - but would stainless be an alternative ? Might be more readily available ?

or at least give you another option.

They sell them in Spinnaker Chandlery, Embankment Rd, Bembridge Harbour - probably a totally useless bit of information, but you just never know. Now, if you'd put your location in your profile....
Like shackles, most of the so-called galvanised items you buy these days are no such thing, just BZP electroplated rubbish which doesn't last 5 minutes.
http://www.spinnakerchandlery.co.uk/ might be worth giving them a ring, ask for Martin (there are 2 Martins who work there, doesn't matter which one as they're both helpful).
