Sorry for the fairly random question, but I know there are some good metallurgists and various experts on these forums amongst the more uneducated of us :)

Does anybody know if there is a test method which accelerates galvanic corrosion? Instead of hanging something in the water for a year and taking monthly observations, can this be speeded up in a lab somehow?

Thanks, Ben

By using a concentrated brine at an elevated temperature ... that sort of thing?
Like the accelerated stress corrosion test I vaguely remember from many years ago where test pieces were refluxed in magnesium chloride solution ????

Or the accelerated weathering tests used for coatings

I think for investigation of galvanic corrosion in the lab sensitive methods of measuring the normal rate of corrosion would be the way forward rather than accelerating the rate.
