I thought I would post this here to help someone out.....The asker on Facebook is a member of a charitable group who have to get the best possible price for an asset (or something like that). Anyway, he is asking if anybody can throw any light on what they should ask for a 1962 Gale Buccaneer outboard (He did publish the serial number if it makes a difference) I looked up some pics of similar models and what a beautiful looking engine, but anybody know what they should be asking for please?

I haven't got a clue as to what money they may get, but seems worth approaching maritime museums and waterside pubs, like maybe the Chain Locker in Falmouth - no connection, just an example, but the National Maritime Museum is next door.

OMC manufactured lots of rebadged johnson / evinrude for different companies, Gale being one of the largest. There are still engines around. Not really rare and I wouldn't say worth a fortune.
