Fuse Labelling - Princess 32

The nice labels with a list of which fuse is which have faded beyond all visibility on my Princess 32. The BSS man (nice chap) sys they should be labelled and I agree but the thought of gradually tracing everything by removing fuses and seeing wot doesnt work doesnt exactly fill me with joy. Any chance some fellow owner of this delightful craft might be able to fix me up with the info if their panels are still readable? Have approached Princess but not too hopeful of a result from that direction.

Easy. I imagine that you know which is which? Or perhaps which are the important ones? Even if you don't just get some labels and write "lights1" and "aux4" and suchlike next to each one. Then, they'll be labelled. By trial and error, make sure the saloon lights on/off is the right one, for the nice BSS man.

You could perhaps, as an antitheft device, have one fuse labelled "burglar alarm on/off" which actually sets off a massive hooter and flashing lights. A friend did this on his car, but sadly it was never pinched. If you are rumbled, a last-ditch excuse is to cite this as the reason for mis-labelling.

Since when did fuse labels become part of the BSS?

BSS doesnt say that fuse labelling is required specifically but says something like 'all circuits shall be protected by fuses of appropriate rating'. If you dont know which fuse is in which circuit its difficult to know if the 'appropriate' rating fuse is fitted in each fuseholder. I'm not objecting to this at all as I agree that it fits into the category of 'good practice' . I've had experience in the past where a very expensive piece of radio gear was b*gg*r*d because some idiot shoved a 30amp fuse into a holder which should have been 10amps - and that one WAS labelled!

Well...wadayaknow....
Had a fax from Princess this morning with THE original wiring diagram -cool!
I had previously suspected that the circuits were protected with fuses in both the negative and positive lines and the drawing confirms it. How times have changed!
Well done Princess - thats what I call customer care.
