Fuse Assistance

The handbook for my autohelm 1000+ auto steering states that it should be 12A.

Any idea how much draw when it is moving ?

In the handboo it states between 0.5A to 1.5A r am I reading it wrongly ?

I think the 0.5-1.5A is a running average; it will draw more when the ram is actually moving. The 12A fuse is to protect the cable.

0.5 - 1.5 A would be much to low.
If the handbook is right you should look for a 15A fuse (supposed the cable diameter is big enough)

I think its around 5or 6 amps when the ram is moving measured a few years ago.

Thanks for answers.

Measured 1000+ today. Was 0.10 A with no load and 1.70A with arm moving. Assume that amps would be much more when theres real load on rudder.
