Furuno GP 32.

Having had a 31 before it, we really love this piece of kit but it is acting rather strangely. Twice in the last 9 months it has lost all the waypoints and routes that I've painstakingly entered. It seems to happen after we have had a break in a journey e.g. calling at a fuel barge on our way back from Dartmouth. Any ideas why this could happen ??
And no it is not protesting at the price charged by that establishment /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

back-up battery is proberbly u/ s & should be changed by agent.
see fault finding in manual

Does it only happen when the unit is switched on and then you start the engines? Is so, I would say it is not the internal battery for the memory but some sort of transient voltage problem.

Yes, I think you may be right. I believe the unit was left on when the engine was turned off & then restarted at the fuel barge.
