Furuno Fax anyone?

Have any of you radio-literate peeps out there seen the furuno fax in operation, or better still, actually have one?

I am trying to find the best way to get a synoptic chart without having to keep the laptop going, and this unit seems to do it whilst you're asleep and then turns itself off. I don't have a lot of space for much more radio gear and I'm not too interested in transmit facilities.

Yes, we have one. Works well and I think it has a timer. We get synoptic charts from a German station in the evening and then turn it off.

Do you mean furunos' weather fax machine? if so look on almost any small fishing/comercial boat they are standard kit which says it all but costs about the same as a laptop!!
