Hi all
Where the scanner cable enters the cabin roof the wire has been cut in the past to facilitate mast removal. The 20+wires are now rejoined with strips of chocoblocks how ever the very thin co-ax is just stripped wrapped and bound with tape . since the inner wire is no more thicker than a human hair it seems a bit of a lash up . Iv spoken to the local Furuno guys who say that's the normal method . Not quite happy with that so does anyone know Of a mini co-ax male/female connector suitable for such a fine wire ??

Cheers

Maplins do one that goes to at least 8 cores and possibly as many as 18, but wiring and soldering becomes difficult. I used these male / female pairs for my nav comms. You could try using two or three to link 20 cores, but it will be fiddly.
