I am connecting my Furuno 1623 radar to a Navman chartplotter. Have bought the Furuno Nmea cable at great expense (£61.57 inc delivery for a cable and plastic connector!) to find my instruction book does not show the connection colour codes. The Furuno website gives their standard connections as output: white + black - and input:yellow + green - However the connections for the 1622 are shown as:
GPS/CHART PLOTTER 1622
NMEA OUT + NMEA IN + (YELLOW WIRE)pin3
NMEA OUT - (Ground) NMEA IN - (GREEN WIRE)pin4
Anyone know which is right for the 1623 radar?
So far no response from Furuno to an e-mail

I'd guess that you should use yellow for NMEA+ input and green for NMEA- input on the 1623 radar. Most Navman plotters use white for NMEA+ output and black for NMEA- output. So connect yellow Furuno wire to white Navman wire; and green Furuno wire to black Navman wire. You'll probably need to set up the Navman to output NMEA data.

The white+ve/black-ve pair and the yellow+ve/green-ve pair can both be used as NMEA inputs. The Bk/W pair can be configured in/out or in/in. My own set up uses the Bk/W pair for GPS input and the Y/Gn pair takes compass input to allow Yeoman plotting. This seems to work OK

I have connected my Furuno to the Navman using the connections as described. I also wanted to link to the Silva deckhead repeater but so far have been unsuccesful. I appear to be only able to link to one at a time but not both. Any suggestions anyone please ?
