I have a Furuno 1622 radar which works fine apart from the heading line on the display is 90deg out from the actual heading of the boat. Cant see any where in the manuals (only the 30deg fine tune mode ) that shows how to correct it.
The dome is installed as per book . Any ideas ,i cant be alone on this one
Regards

peter

Are the echoes on the correct bearings? On my 1623, there's an antenna diagnostic test that reports heading and bearing status as OK or NG. Don't know if that might help.
(Hadn't realised the bearing adjustment was limited to 30deg.)

Can't answer but interested as I have same unit. I have some manuals on PDF for slightly later versions if you want them PM me. I can look through the original manuals after the weekend as these are at home.

Hi no the echos are in not in the correct position on the screen in relation to the boats heading and position, its just the heading line on the screen is 90deg out from whats actually around .ie boat and screen facing forward the echos ahead should come pretty much down the centre lubber line, in my case the echoes come in from the side at say 3 o clock, giving the illusion that the dome is mounted 90 deg out .Acording to the manual it is fitted corectly and i cant see how the the board inside can be moved round.

Cheers

Furuno uk have service centres in Havant & Aberdeen, A Havant service engineer gave advice when I emailed them re a problem. Perhaps best to ask one of them.
