Hi All,

Having the boat in dry storage is enabling me to do quite a few winter jobs :-)

I removed the bilge drain to check if there was any water in the bilge but this is bone dry. However, as it's been undercover i've noticed a fume / smell in the cuddy. It doesn 't smell of petrol. The cooker is fueled by oil and i wonder if the smell of this oil is finding its way into the cuddy?

Any ideas what to check? Boat is a Yamarin 68DC with a Yamaha 150 outboard

Thanks

Jason

Its difficult to explain it - but since posting, i might have an idea.

It's a chemical smell / fume and i seem to remember that the wife was pouring copious amounts of a chemical cleaner into the loo (which is positioned in the cuddy ) It's a seawater flush toilet so i assume the smell from the (now empty) waste tank could be finding its way back into the cuddy?

Cuddy cabins always have some sort of smell. I was convinced I could smell petrol in mine but I don't think it was. Boats have well a boaty smell
