I was given a Dehler 35CWS deep fin keel to play with today. 2.1m draft.

It is very fast, and close winded, not at all like a Full Circle. I put it onto the putty near Fambridge twice in 10 minutes. On a falling tide.

Managed to blag my way off both times.
Phew.
Think I got away with it.

Not sure about all the winches being up the back, but this is the first time I have played with size 48 electric Harken winches. You could pull tree stumps with them, which is scary.

Lynn said she knew I was enjoying myself when I started talking to the boat.

Guapa draws 2.1m too - your adventure illustrates why we only stayed in Burnham for 3 months /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Before a drink ? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Still have that pleasure to look forward to, though no doubt it will happen soon enough

I was considering a boat change, with one of these or an older D34 in mind but I don't want to go deeper draft than current (1.5m) so the 35 is out; must look more closely at the 34's spec.

I always say hello as soon as I get aboard. Been doing that for years. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Ah yes, always do that on Full Circle, but it was indicative of me settling in quickly, if I talk to someone else's boat on first acquaintance.

I have one of those, but mine draws only 1.5m - so ner! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif She's currently standing on the wharf at Maldon (not enough water to launch until Friday) /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Yes, some coonversation about this, as the book says 1.88m for the deep fin option, but when it was on the hard, it was photographed by the yard because it was the deepest keel they had ever managed to pull out of the goo at Bridgemarsh. It measured 2.1m to the waterline marks!

When we were looking to buy ours, most of the advertised 'deep keel' versions varied in the draft quoted, but seemed to average around 1.95m, so it's interesting to hear the true draft. Our wing keel version claims 1.5m, which seems accurate based upon tests conducted in a controlled environment (the sill at Woodbridge Tide Mill /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif)
