Hi
I'm looking for recommendations for a good waterproof and breathable full cover for my Maxum MX1800,I have priced a genuine Maxum one from the states but it's a bit expensive at £450 plus shipping. The cover will be put over the original tonneau covers which are all good but my old cover has just about had it now with the cold and wet winter we have in uk.
I'm happy to pay a good price for a good quality cover but unsure as to what materials are best and who to turn to for a price. My boat is in Lake District so I can't take it for a fitting and would ideally like a custom fit one taken from the original Maxum cover.Any advice or recommendation appreciated.

I Got a trailerable cover imported from the states made by Westland,
i needed a cover that was guaranteed to usable for towing which i found hard to get someone to guarantee in the uk, also the price was much lower than what i could buy one in the uk. Shipping was easy and relatively quick.

They have three different levels of fabric i went for sharkskin Hd (middle one) which I'm very happy with and it fits great. However I think but i would pay the extra for sunbrella if i buy again because the bottom of the fabric is a bit harsh on my tonneau covers and has worn them in a few areas, although i did tow it about 2000miles last year, its been out all winter and it still looks like new. :)

Steve Goacher (Goacher Sails) in Bowness made a superb tonneau cover for my Fairline Weekend 21 a couple of years ago, cost circa £450 I think. I have seen other canopies he has made, all look very good. He made a template, then fitted the final thing to ensure a snug fit. No problems when towing the boat to the Med, and no deterioration in the sunshine.

Get a Ducksback from ebay. Yes they are only about £50 but will last at least 3 years and they are very good indeed. 450/50 = 9 x 3 = 27 Years. Stretchy, don't fill with water, Light and just good

Try one you will not be disappointed
