If two taps, one is longer than the other and the engine connected to the shorter gets all the crap. Otherwise I dunno.

What have you got between the tank and each engine? Fuel line to water sepaertor(s), In line filters (racor or similar?) or just a fuel pipe to the engine? what about the return? Actually are they diesel? we need some more details to provide any help.
