fuel tanks

Hi, Davey here, we have a problem with our angling boat, the fuel tank is flaking off rust inside it, which is NOT good for the efficient running of the engine!! The boat in question is an I.P.23 with a 40h.p. oil cooled diesel engine,(a V.M.) We are seriously thinking about a plastic one, can anyone give me some info and advice please?

Why not have a stainless one fabricated to your requirements? Maybe a little more expensive but certainly a permanent solution.

I think you might be underestimating the cost by using the word "little"

I don't know if this will help but Towsure products do plastic tanks and they are 11.5 galls @ £63.75. Contact them on www.towsure.co.uk. The tanks are one piece with gauge. They also have smaller ones 6 gall £26.95 @ 3 gall. £19.95 .I know these are meant for outboards but I hope this may give food for thought.
