Can anyone recommend a yacht fuel tank manufacturer in the Gosport / Fareham area? After 34 years the mild steel one on my Moody 33 Mk II is beginning to seep. I cleaned it all out a couple of years back but suspect the rust is coming from the outside bottom which I cannot access.

Once I've got the old one out (which will be an interesting, angle grinding task I suspect) I am looking to have a new one made up. Tek Tanks have made custom ones for the yacht in the past but at £906 that's a somewhat steep prospect. If mild steel can last 30 years, another will see me through I suspect!

If you want to replace like with like, almost any Fabrication shop could do this. Assuming you want one made using the old one as a pattern you'll have to accept it'll take a while. There's a place in Horndean I use for patching up my trailer and a galvanisation shop in Eastleigh that'll do the business with zinc. I don't know if the Horndean workshop could test it tho' I've not had then do a tank.
