Any idea how I could clean my diesel tank? I really cannot see how I could do it. The only "space" available is if I remove the tank sensor. Removing the tank is beyond even science fiction!
Are you sure it needs cleaning?
Rob.
The best way to clean the tank is to empty it, take it out and steam it. But this is often not possible as in your case. However, the tank doesn't look that big from your phots and it might be possible to remove if you remove the big pipe in front of it and the lips round the locker. It depends how the tank is fixed down but with a bit of wiggling it might be possible.Any idea how I could clean my diesel tank? I really cannot see how I could do it. My 351 was the same as that, I took the fuel level transmitter out and with a flashlight was able to see inside it. I had a 6 litre Pela oil removal pump and used the hose on that to suck out any bits of rubbish. It was easy!Any idea how I could clean my diesel tank? I really cannot see how I could do it. I don't know. I never had (fingers crossed) any problems with my filters getting blocked or even dirty (they always look clean when I change them) but the boat is almost 10 years old and the tank was never cleaned.
