Fuel prices SofF

Yikes that feels very punchy. I got around €1.30 with truck delivery but that was up till last September and of course oil is now $60 rather than $50.

From memory I paid €1 50 somthing last Nov ,the last time I bought fuel in Antibes .
I seem good at convincing the crew it’s better to go by boat as opposed by car / road due to traffic / parking issues to visit our property there ,we arrive 12 ish , when it’s shut for lunch .
Bless em the classic Fr - 2 hr lunch :) - this gives 2 hr free “parking “ tucked under Rosemary and Thymes bow :encouragement:

La Rague v near us ( La Napoule) has cheaper fuel than our marina anyhow — I’ll be popping in there more often .
Interesting to see how YS pans out in La Nap if La Rague owned by the Arie d boom group undercuts them .

They got it last year back end the lease off ( us ) the shareholders.
Previously we sub leased out the marina site AND a road site on the main road .
The road sites tanks needed renewing to meet some ironically EU standard .This was going to cost too much so the tenant got out at the end of his term .
We closed the road site as it was doing small vol s compared to the marina pitch - There’s a Geant nearby undercutting fuel fit cars .
A few “ volunteers “ ran the marina ,did gazole @ around €1,5 last summer .Eventually YS come in as the tenant .
The road site has been redevelop ed funded by the hotel opersite @€200K into a pretty garden area .
Tanks for the marina were done / compliant a few years ago .

If YS go “mad “ with fuel prices- relative to the oil price - then it will be raised at the AGM and no dought -the terms of there tenancy looked at .

While I,am wearing my “back seat shareholder corporate hat “
We ( our marina management team + a bank ) got hold of the tender docs for Antibes - with a view to taking that on post lease expiration- crunched a few numbers and
Let it go ,.— short story there a huge extra sum put on by Paris needed to be squeezed out of the berthholders .
I ll put a copy of what I have on the boat and those in Antibes can do there own maths .

Its rare that Mallorca is cheaper for anything! Last year as E1.20 ish per litre - think it was e1.18 at one point. Car fuel a few days ago was E1.16 so based on the usual add on it is probably E1.22 /E1.25 for boats at the moment.

Car fuel in Fr motorway services last week was north of €1.68 for 98 Ron , the 95 is less .
Maybe Macrons mob trying it on ,but it hits the ave guy as well

The cruel thing is there is a service station at the port in Beaulieu. Diesel at at is €1.47 a litre. There has always been a constant 20c split between the service station and the fuel sold at the refuel point. On one of my morning runs last week I saw a battered sign in St Jean that was advertising diesel for €1.45 a litre.

Our French friends told us there was a large tax increase in France in the new year for fuel hence the sharp recent rises.

Any news on your berth predicament- as BsM ,s lease expires v soon - end of this y ?

We are in a different kettle of fish as we are on an annual berth, so regardless of what happens we have a berth. Lots of chat about what might happen with the current team pushing to continue running the port and not get sucked into the larger riviera ports set up.

Ask them what the new “ state land fees “ are gonna be —— someone must know .
Theses fees are what Paris will set and as infered the only way to get that is divi up amongst your self - the berth holders
