Fuel price in Gibralter

About 80p sterling, I was told today

Somebody's making a nice profit on that. The pre tax price of diesel is about 60p/l. I assume there's no duty or tax of any kind on Gibraltar fuel?

I can't remember what the tax rate is, but a couple of years ago they started to charge tax on marine diesel, albeit at a lower rate than road diesel.

I did say dependant on quantity purchased LARGER quantities can see it around 74/76p :o but this changes almost day today... Almost best to phone ahead to check/negotiate !!!!

No Vat (on anything) but there is a reduced rate of Fuel Duty. Diesel in the Petrol Station with full Duty is 97.9p litre.

Fuel berth normally about 2p cheaper per litre than road diesel for at least 100l. As everyone points out, there are 3 competing companies (BP, CEPSA and Go Oil [formerly Shell]) all next to each other so feel free to haggle!

Thanks for all the replies, seems to me hardly worth the mileage in the wrong direction.

I checked Chandlery prices in Gib be telephone yesterday, and it appears their "VAT and Duty free" prices offer little or no savings on the prices that can be found here in the UK

Thanks for the help Guys

Graham
