good morning,

i am planning to change my fuel oil tank as the old one is leaking!

present tank is regular 200 l drum .

any experience with plastic tanks ?
they are very common a shore, but what about for use at sea!

thanks

I've got a plastic tank, about 50 litres. No problems at all. I suspect that there is less condensation with a plastic tank as I get virtually no water in the wataer seperator filter. It also has the advantage in that as it is transluscent I can see at a glance how much fuel is in it.

Tek-Tanks have received good reviews on this forum; www.tek-tanks.co.uk. Vetus has a range of tanks and accessories, including their "splash-stop" which prevents overflow when filling. I had two polyetheylene tanks from a US supplier which were excellent and had fuel gauge senders.

thanks for reply !

the Tek-Tanks are great but are extremely expensive /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

i am looking for some more cheaper options

thanks and brgds
