My exploration of the 12hp Kubota glowering at me from its dark lair shows only one fuel filter - a simple CAV type mounted on a nearby bulkhead. All my spies suggest that's not goodenuff. I need at least one other, and I also need a priming 'add-on' - for which a kit is available through ASAP et al.

Google, in its persistent attempts to befriend me, suggests I consider these....

What does the team think?

40 micron is coarse for a second filter.
The area of the screen is small compared to a pleated paper filter, so it will clog quickly if used as a first filter.
The glass body may be viewed as a fire risk if inside the engine box.
Also is the central bit that holds it together made of plastic?
On the plus side you can see what is happening and you should be able to flush it and re-use the element.

Are you sure? Both my engines have had a filter mounted on the engine after the lift pump. If you have a bulkhead mounted filter it sounds like you might already have two?

+1, if it's a Beta. The secondary filter will be a small spin-on. Probably ditto for Nanni. If a home-converted Kubota, who knows.

P.S. I'd agree that 40 micron is pretty pointless for a secondary filter. (Especially one designed for chromed fuel. What is that stuff?)

'Aye, there's the rub...' ( Hamlet, Act III )

P'rhaps not quite the sharpest knife in the drawer, this 'bear of little brain' does have the wit to follow the path of the fuel supply from tank to chamber.... and explore what one finds along the way.
