Fuel filter plug

Ran the gene for the first time last weekend for about an hour. After shutting it down, I went into the engine bay to close the sea-cock and notice diesel. Lots of it, in fact a couple of gallons.

After pumping it out I traced it back to a fuel filter I have never noticed before. It's one of the 2-in-2-out lines, however it is missing a plug and is esentially open. Seems that the gene takes it's fuel from the main starboard tank, but the diesel return line goes back to the auxilary tank (there are 3 tanks), and it seems to put enough pressure to dribble diesel out of the extra fuel filer.

I believe the gene is connected wrong and should take it's feed from this filter which comes from the auxilary tank. However this will leave the main engine filter without a plug in it.

You can see the filter at the back of this picture on the bulkhead.

The (long winded) question is - Anyone know where I can buy a plug for this fuel filter?

it's probably bsp, don't know what size. quater or three eighths, would be a good guess. try your local hydraulic engineers. you will probably need a doughty bonded seal as well, the whole lot shouldn't cost more than a fiver.

If its the one i think it is, the fittings are 1/2 UNC (or M14, but i doubt it by the look of it) IMHO

and fuel returns should go to the same tank as the feed, otherwise you risk overfilling / emptying tanks! (ok, a slim chance, but i would prefer my engines to have fuel /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif)
