I am replacing the diesel fuel filler pipe on my Albin Vega, as it has seen better days. It is made out of a stiff black rubber flexible tubing and is about 2.5 meters in length. It is has a wavy external surface (sorry, no photo) and is of 5cm internal diameter. I have been quoted £73 plus £10 postage and packing, which seems a bit steep. Does anyone know if that is the going rate? Are there any cheaper alternatives?

Just be aware that plastic (PVC) pipe, unlike neoprene, becomes very hard after prolonged contact with diesel and will not flex like the pukka fuel hose.

Thank you. I have decided to go for the proper thing, although I seem to have got it relatively cheaply, at £72 for three metres plus postage. The car builder solutions tubing suggested by David 2452 was priced at £18 plus VAT per half metre.
