Hi,

Do you think I will have any problems using non-toxic wire reinforced clear hose as a filling hose for diesel (connecting deck filler to fuelt tank).

thanks for your help.

It is difficult to expand on to things that are a tad oversize and I imagine difficult to sqeeze down on to things that are little under size with jubilee clips. Hose etc always come in two sizes too large and too small! Remember diesel has an almost unrivalled ability to seep out of joints that are not 100% tight.

I imagine you have your reasons for wanting to use wire reinforced hose but I would love to know why you think non toxic hose has any advantages

Whilst the translucent pipe may well last a season or two, it is not the right standard, and may suffer from embrittlement - with rather serious consequences, as in your bilges filling with expensive red stuff. Insurance company might put its feet down.

Check the various trade suppliers, e.g. diesel hose or for an even lower cost solution have a word with your local garage to see if the pump maintenance people could let you have some replaced hoses.

Thats what the manufacturers fitted to my boat in 1989 and it is still ok transparent and flexible with no leaks.
