Could anybody tell me what the fuel consumption would be on the following at cruising speed:-

Sealine 328 Soverign 1990
Twin Volvo 200hp AQAD41A 6 cylinder diesels

built into that question what would the cruising speed?

I understand that a lot depends on conditions...

Not that I am thinking of moving from sail to power but sometimes hear in the Med I do wonder...

Very roughly. 20ish knots, probably around 10gph. Or to put it another way. Around 2nm per gallon.

I concur Average 2 mpg perhaps including harbours @ 8 knots but I would have expected 24/25 knt cruise @ 1.6 mpg

Sorry I should have asked - is that per engine or both running?

Thank you both for replying

That's for both.

I have run a single 25ft outdrive boat and a twin 28ft outdrive boat and I averaged around 4-5mpg on the single and around 2-2.5 on the twin. (both diesel)

A 328 will average around 2mpg if using it at sea and cruising on the plane when you can.

If you stick to rivers and 5 knots you get much better fuel economy :D

Two speeds to avoid, unless you want really poor fuel economy, is full throttle and that period when the boat is trying to climb up on the plane but is not quite there, roughly between 8 and 15 knots.
