Fuel consumption 4 v 2 stroke

Have a 4.7m RIB witha suzuki 55 2 stroke, considering getting a Yamaha 60 4 stroke, any idea what the difference in fuel consumption is likely to be?

LJ - quite a lot I think will be the answer the 60 Yam should deliver about 2 gallons / hr for you, whereas the Suzi (especially if older) would burn about 4 and thats working both engines at about 70% of capability.

My old (brand new in 2002) Suzi 100 used to burn about 6gph on a fairly heavy 17ft Bowrider with 5 on board.

Almost half!

If the new engine costs £5,000, and at £5.00 / gallon for fuel, not changing will leave money in your bank for the next 1000 gallons / 250 hours use.
