Anyone had any experience of using a company called Express Lube? They offer a service of extracting and cleaning diesel fuel from tanks and then restoring the cleaned fuel. The fuel is pumped out from say the fuel guage sender hole and then cycled through a centrifuge and returned to the tank via the normal filling hose. This is done under fairly high pressure and so the disturbance in the tank should move a lot of the rubbish into the circulation. A bit like an enema! It costs £400. I would be interested if anyone has used the servie. I have them doing my boat which has water and the bug at, next week - so I'll report back

Chris does an excellent job cleaning tanks and the system is designed perfectly for doing that job. I saw it doing a demo at Seaworks 2003 and it removed the water very well.

Make sure afterwards you continue to use a good effective additive that removes dead matter and contamination by breaking it up during filtration other wise you might get te bug back. A biocide is no good in this respect.

Let us know what you thought.
