Hi all, a friend wishes to extend his cruising range by fitting an additional fuel tank about 100 litres. There is not a lot of room under the deck and having one custom made to fit, what is also an awkward space looks like being very costly.

I have been told that a flexible fuel cell/bladder is available to fit into spaces like this. After an hour or so of googling I haven't been able to find anything.

Does anyone have any experience of this type of kit or know where it may be available from.

many thanks

When local boats were doing long trips down to Biscay they installed domestic oil tanks on deck with a feed pipe to top up the main tanks. If there is space a plastic tank (readily available) of suitable size could be installed somewhere on deck. Failing that there are many 25 litre plastic cans available with a tap fitted which could be used for safely topping up service tanks via a hose.
