After many problems with my Webasto heater and having been told by a Webasto Marine dealer that additives where OK. I have now been told that Webasto heaters do not like addtives of any can. Does anyone have any experience of addtives and webasto's? Heater is now working but was carboned up like nobodies business, all down to the additive.

Use Soltron as my additive!

Merry Christmas

I use use S**tron in an ebby, and its fine - i took the plug out this season to check it, and its not sooted up at all.

Webatso *are going* say that you should not use additives, there is a reason for everything...

You can tell Kevin at webasto that this ploy is NOT going to work and he will have to buy the beer at LIBS as apology.

Webasto were interested in Soltron until one of the bods decided Webasto were going to produce their own additive thats why the sudden change of heart. You wait soon they will be recommending that you only use their additive BUT I dont think the likes of Volvo and Cummins are going to like THEIR additive running through their engines.

If you run yr heater on low too much, it will carbon up like nobodies business, additive or not. They like to run flat out as it burns the carbon away. Mine runs 24/7 on full blast as a liveaboard and never carbons up. Run it on half heat for a week and then it stops working due to carbon buildup
