Hi there,
I have a 5.7ltr V8 pushing a 30ft 6500kg boat, at 3500rpm (around 20knots) I am burning around 40ltrs per hour, this is a pretty approximate figure and takes into account mixed sea & wind conditions so may be slightly better or worse but is an acceptable benchmark.
The best way to find out is to run the boat for an hour with say 50 ltrs in the tank (and some spare fuel in cans) and measure how much is used after an hour.

It will do about 4lph at river speed, 10 lph at cruising speed and around 20lph flat out.

20 LPH flat out? I would have thought at least double that.

When I had a merc v6 4.3 lx cruise was 30 lph. Now with v8 7.4 lx cruise is 40 lph at full chat double that.
