I want to send a 10 MB manual to another forumite. It's a bit big for email but I reckon one of you computer experts might be able to suggest a method. I think it could be ftp'd but am not sure how to set up my end.
Thanks

Have you tried zipping it first? The problem with ftping it directly is that one end needs to be a server. It would be easier to put it somewhere you both have access to. Most ISPs give you some space as part of the package.

Ok ... you can use ZIP or RAR program to break up a compressed file into smaller chunks ... as long as all parts are sent via a number of e-mails and receiver puts all together in one folder - he can then un-zip / rar to original file.

FTP - is fine - but as another says - you need to act as server ...

There is another possibility - free archive space on the web ... where you upload the file to the space ... then give access to other people to download from there ... just google "Free space on web" or similar .....
