One of my TAMD40b's has developed a weep on the front crank oil seal, which sprays lightly as it hits the pulley, so I want to replace it.
Various engineers have estimated three to five hours for this, yet it appears to be a simple job of removing the drivebelts (10 minutes, have done this before) removing the pulley from the polygon hub (hmmm, looks around 45 minutes, as it's approx 5 bolts) and then using a flat puller to remove the polygon hub.
The rest is removing the old seal, replacing it, then heating the polygon to refit it and reassembling.
Is it really as hard as '£400 plus VAT' ??
Best firm price is £250 plus VAT.
I'm tempted to do it myself, but I don't have the puller....
